Terms of Use
Effective Date: February 5, 2026
By accessing or using Sparky HQ ("the Site") and its calculators ("the Tools"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Not Professional Advice
The Tools provided on this Site are for informational and reference purposes only. They do not constitute professional electrical engineering advice, design services, or licensed contracting services. The Tools are not a substitute for the judgment of a qualified, licensed electrician, engineer, or inspector.
2. No Warranty
The Site and Tools are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
While we strive for accuracy, we do not warrant that calculations are error-free or that the Tools reflect the most current edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC) or any local code amendments. NEC references are based on publicly available code requirements and may not reflect the specific edition or amendments adopted in your jurisdiction.
3. User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- Verifying all calculations independently before use in any electrical design, installation, or inspection
- Confirming compliance with the current NEC edition and all applicable local, state, and federal codes and amendments
- Ensuring that any work performed based on information from this Site is done by or under the supervision of a qualified, licensed professional
- Understanding the limitations of any calculator tool and applying professional judgment to all results
4. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sparky HQ, its owner, operators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to:
- Personal injury or property damage
- Loss of profits, revenue, or data
- Errors or omissions in calculations or content
- Any reliance placed on information provided by the Tools
- Any interruption or cessation of the Site or Tools
This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise), even if Sparky HQ has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
5. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sparky HQ, its owner, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Site or Tools, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
6. NEC and Code References
References to the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70, and specific NEC articles, tables, and sections are for educational and reference purposes. The NEC is published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Sparky HQ is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NFPA. The NEC is updated on a three-year cycle, and local jurisdictions may adopt different editions or amendments.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
